One of the best places to learn about traditional weaving and the making of kimonos, all of which you can find here at the textile center in the heart of the weaving district. Occasionally a person can find themselves upstairs watching a kimono fashion show.

KANEI RESTAURANT

Voted as the best soba restaurant in all of Kyoto, millions of soba otakus flock from all over Japan just to get a mouth-watering bite of the famous soba. While here at Kanei, you can watch as the restaurateurs make handmade noodles, the way they work on their craft is truly captivating to the eye. At Kanei, there is also hardly any English spoken in the restaurant.

FUNAOKA ONSEN

Said to be one of the best public baths in all of Kyoto, Funaoka Onsen, is well the best. Despite claiming the title of hot springs bath, it's actually just a public bath with heated water. Nonetheless, let's not get caught up on minor details. Funaoka Onsen is hands down the most relaxing and interesting public bath in the region.

BOARD DESCRIPTION
Nishijin, the district made a prominent name for itself because of it's notoriety for weaving. It is home to many museums and galleries devoted to the traditional weaving of the Kyoto people. Walking in this district, people are drawn towards history and soaking that up this ward gives off a historical feel. Nishijin is also home to the best soba in Kyoto thanks to the famous Kanei restaurant.
