SANJUSANGEN-DO TEMPLE

More than likely Sanjusangen-do is the only temple with over one hundred images of the Buddhist God of Mercy, Kannon. The images are the only reason as to why the temple is considered a tourist destination and many people draw similar conclusions to the infamous terracotta army and conclude that it is only an angelic army.

The traditional entertainment district of the city. When people think and talk about the ephemeral floating world, they seem to be talking about this district. Inside one can find geisha houses, hostess houses and high end elitist restaurants as well as many other things. In the Gion District make no mistake this is where the drama of the night takes place with gangsters and wannabes wander the street claiming turf.

HEIAN-JINGU SHRINE

Considered to be the most important and the best architecture as far as shrines are considered, Heian-Jingu Shrine is a must see for both tourists and locals alike. The shrine gate stands at an impressive 25 meters high which is one of the largest heights of shrine gates in all of the city.

Generally speaking, Japan's zoos are absolutely deplorable. However out of the trash heap there rises Kyoto City Zoo which is decent at best.

At the museum there are generally free shows on the first floor which anyone interested should attend. There's also a variety of special exhibitions that change every other week, so don't forget to stop by and check it out.

KYOTO INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY HOUSE

The community house is home to a vast library in which there is a plethora of books in different languages. There's also free wifi as well. The Kyoto International Community House is one of the tourist destinations of the city.

BOARD DESCRIPTION
Higashiyama District, one of the more prominent districts which is split into Northern and Southern Higashiyama. Northern Higashiyama is home to temples with some of the most alluring architecture in all of Kyoto. The quotidian life of many of Higashiyama District's denizens are spent among the lush greenery of the forests, planning trips to the region's museum, as well as basking in the rays of the sun by the river's edge.
