■ Ride The Wave offers a simple system in regards to earning Yen for your character in their pursuit of Skills (Tricks), A-T upgrades, and/or Weapons. To do so, one must simply complete a task. Characters are able to take up various tasks that can range from delivering an important item to winning a street fight against a minor gang of thugs that constantly attack a city. You will (obviously) get to roleplay that experience and from there, turn in said task for the retrieval of Yen. There are a multitude of things characters— no matter their group— can do for task. These are all member created and driven unless a task is specifically designed by a staff member. So have at it! There are four types of tasks here on Ride The Wave: Solo Tasks, Group Tasks, Unique Tasks, and Plot Tasks.
■ Characters cannot do tasks above their class, unless the said task is being held by a character of the task class. Meaning, a C-Class Rider/Tuner cannot do a B-Class task; but if an A or B-Class Rider/Tuner is leading the B-Class task, the C-Class Rider/Tuner can join. You can only get rewards of your class unless stated otherwise. So even if a C-Class Rider/Tuner attended a B-Class task and completed it, the C-Class Rider/Tuner will be rewarded C-Class Yen.
■ Not everyone is cut out for cooperating alongside others, there are always those that prefer to go and handle things alone. The lone wolves and sometimes, the try-hards. For these Riders and Tuners, they have the option of partaking in certain tasks by themselves. There is no added benefit for going out and taking care of business yourself, aside from simple convenience or preference for story making. Whatever the case, should be noted that taking higher class tasks (B+) by yourself is not permitted unless stated otherwise. These are supposed to be dangerous to a high degree even with a group present,. So just imagine how difficult it would be for a single person. You are allowed to solo 2 F to D CLASS TASKS (Tasks that range from class F to class D) a month. (This rule is subject to change). However Staff reserves the right to pop into task threads and make things hard if we see illogical things happening in said thread.
■ Here at Ride the Wave, we love seeing members working together to complete tasks. Due to the nature and plot of the site (as well as Air Gear in general), groups (teams to be precise) can prove to be very vital in success and progress. Tasks should more likely than not show this. And as with most things; the more help you have, generally, the easier things will be. In theory of course. These tasks are just as, if not more dangerous than ones designed for a single person, but because we understand threads with multiple writers tend to get slow at times, and life has a way of throwing us all curve balls, we will certainly allow the remaining and more active of the group to finish it up as long as you reached the said post count. Those who do not complete the requirements will not receive the full Yen earnings.
■ These are staff given tasks that allow for those who seek to forge a unique road be granted the ability to do so. Tasks of this nature are to be done in a team (Storm Rider x Tuner) and cannot be soloed unless stated otherwise by staff. The objectives of these tasks will vary solely on the character participating. Each unique task will vary and never be the same for they are designed to test the core fundamentals of the road in with which you are trying to forge. To apply for a unique task, you are asked to PM GEM with the morals and short overview of the unique road you wish to create. Then, a task thread will be created and modded for you to complete. These tasks, alongside giving you access to a Unique Road, also dish out C-Class Rewards with a possible bonus.
■ These are tasks created by staff to be completed by a certain amount of characters or specific groups. These tasks will be enacted to further site plot and will be modded by the staff member in charge of said task. Tasks of this caliber will involve sign ups and certain objectives that most of the tasks listed above may, or may not include. Once again, these tasks are used to further the 'story line' of the site to a certain degree. Your characters will prove that each and everyone one of you play a vital role within the Parts War. These tasks will allow you to see just how important of a role you play. Various outcomes come from these tasks. However, do realize that by signing yourself up for these tasks, you are expected to be as active as possible within them. These are quite important.
■ Although these are not tasks, one cam simply turn in a social thread (any thread that's not a task) to earn extra Yen. Note that this does not mean you can make 10 posts of 10 word posts and turn them in expecting a lump sum. No no no, the effort you put into socializing and creating relations and development will ensure your Yen earning. Quality over quantity, but don't be lazy. Also, please do not rush threads in the hopes of quickly turning them in. That ruins the fun for your thread partner. Let the thread come to a natural end and then feel free to get some earnings for a job well done!
